2006 CORN ISLAND STORYTELLING FESTIVAL

32ND ANNUAL FESTIVAL

The 2006 Corn Island Storytelling Festival, will be held September 7th, 8th and 9th. This 32 year old Louisville festival features an entertaining line up of storytellers from Kentucky and across the country including: Toni Simmons (TX), Willa Brigham (NC), and Octavia Sexton (KY).  The 2006 Corn Island Festival includes student-oriented performances at the Oldham County Arts Center (Crestwood) on Sept 7th at 9:30 am and 12 pm and a performance at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park (Freys Hill Road) on Sept. 8th at 10 am.  Various Louisville Public Libraries (LFPL) (to be determined) will host events on Sept 7, 8 and 9th. There will be a live taping for the NPR radio series "Kentucky Homefront" on Sept 8th at 7:30 pm at the Kentucky Theater (651 S. 4th St) and Ghost Walks will be taken through downtown Louisville on Sept. 7th and 8th. 

The festival culminates Sept 9th at 7:30 pm with Ghost Tales at E. P.  Tom Sawyer State Park.  This program, suitable for all ages, will include Louisville's nationally known author, Roberta Simpson Brown, 'The Queen of Cold-Blooded Tales' and Keith Age, founder of the Louisville Ghost Hunters Society.  Keith will share stories of some of his more notable paranormal investigations.  Artists will be available for book and CD signings throughout the evening.
 

Tickets for all events (except LFPL events) are available at the gate: $10 for
adults, $5 for children 6-12, children under 6 are free.
All Louisville Free Public Library performances are free.
